Did you know that the bags in our Urban Outdoor series all are made in a 1000 denier Nylon 6.6 Cordura®? Maybe not, give us a minute or two to tell you a little bit about this!
Cordura was originally introduced as a type of rayon but was further developed during World War II, being used by the military in the manufacturing of tires. But it wasn’t until the late 1970’s when researchers discovered a process for dyeing the Cordura nylon that the fabric was commercialized. Today the Cordura fabric is commonly used in everything from luggage, backpacks and boots, to outdoor and performance apparel, motorcycle gear and airplane upholstery. It is well known for its remarkeble durability and resistance to abrasions and tears - perfect for extended outdoor use.
Cordura® is used to make tough, water resistant, long-lasting products. It is the quality we want for our Urban Outdoor series and why we choose to use the 1000 denier Nylon 6.6 Cordura®.
